This abusive language is the result of Indian educational system, policy makers & biased media, which is working overtime to generate a generation of biased, corrupt minds & no tolerance towards a different belief system.
And as suggested by the muslim brother above that Sikhs have taken some verse out of context & are allowed to smoke is absolutely wrong. Please also read the story of 10th Nanak Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji's horse refused to cross a tabacco field.
Yes, Sikh scriptures give example of Hindu gods at times & muslim faith but in certain context of their good deeds. Sikh scriptures also condemn the praying of any powers of Maya {Devi / Devtas} for materialistic gains and always guide Sikhs to pray directly to Akal Purkh. Sikh ideology considers Hell or Heaven{the after life worlds as per Hindu, Muslims, Christians} as the part of cycle of life and death. Sikhs are told to remember Him(God) only all the time with humility & giving respect & equal status to people of all the religions & beliefs.
I am saddened by the lack of knowledge of people in wider India and their use of abusive language towards minorities. This is all because of the fanatic / biased media & leadership of current India.
As for younger generation, lets please educate us with the TRUTH.

Sikhs are Hindus period. Sikhism is one in a long line of reformist movements on the sub-continent. Sikhs have a separate identity, which by the way they aggressively cultivated in the 20th century. The entire episode started when the Sanatan Sikhs wrote the book. "Hum Hindu Hain" which was countered by the Tat Khalsa book "Hum Hindu Nahin Hain". In the end the Tat Khalsa's view prevailed and they aggressively went about promoting the superficial differences that exist between the Sikhs and Hindus. No more no less.

Secular Indian,
There is no difference between any of the race of God. If you read & try to understand the Sikh scriptures & history everything will be crystal clear to you.
Yes, its was a big blow to the Brahmin matt when Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji refused to wear hindu sacred thread during His childhood & from there onwards there were numerous examples of clashes between Sikh ideology & that of Hindu.
So far only Hindus & Muslims are dominating in defining laws & rules of India for themselves & Sikhs as they are always in majority from the beginning. I don't see by any way Sikhs being the part of Hindu or Muslim ideology or religion. Hindu ideology limits till 1 heaven & 1 hell, Muslim ideology is limited till 7 heavens & 7 hells and Sikh ideology says that there are limitless of these, created & destroyed in no time. There are billions of types Bharamas, Vishnus & Shivs in the court of Lord.

I happen to read message by one of the muslim brother saying that Sikhs are allowed to eat meat. Sikhs are not allowed to eat meat as it contradicts the basic fibre of Sikh thought process of showing mercy towards all the creatures of God. But yes if there are people out there who call themselves Sikhs and also eat non-veg then they certainly not allowed to eat meat cut in Muslim/Jew ritualistic way as no ritual can justify the eating of meat & killing of animal for taste. Sikhs are not anyway specially forbidden to eat any particular animal like cows & pigs. During the Guru's times, Sikhs in war used to eat meat as there were not vegitables available in the jungles all the times but this is not required in todays age & time.
A Sikh on spritual path will never eat meat but if anyone eats meat then he is allowed to eat any meat which includes beef & pork.

Has anyone observed this thing, I always have observed the people of all the religion claim that someway or other Sikhism is their offshoot, which clearly shows that Sikhism is an universal religion and covers all the good things of different religions.
I hope we all try to be first perfect in our own religions before commenting others religions.

The literal meaning of Sikh is student. No one can become a Sikh without actually following the Gurmatt. Just having an outlook of Sikh doesnt necessarily make you a Sikh. There was a trend in punjabies where they used to call their eldest son as Sikh but hten it is down to that person if he chooses or is blessed in reality to follow the path shown by Guru Nanak. Wearing turban & calling yourself Singh or Kaur does not necessarily make you a Sikh. To become a Sikh one has to submit to the God and understand the gurbani and follow it as told.

If you study Sikh History & Sikh scriptures, they clearly tell humans to forget all the differences & instead pray to almight Waheguru / Allah / God / Narayan for the mukti from the cycle of life and death.
I always feel so sad whenever there is a topic on religion on this site, fanatic people try to prove that everyone is the part of Hinduism. And if not, then they are anti-Indians. What the hell man ?? What is the refusal of being a part of Hinduism has anything to do with anti-India. I feel these right wing Hindus are the worst anti-Indian who are killing the basic fabric of secularism in this country.
Moreover the sad punjabi culture is such an anti-Sikh culture, it contradicts in many ways the true Sikh values but sad thing is that majority of the Sikhs are coming from this culture & they are failing get rid of the bads of Punjabi culture. Sikhism is an universal concept & religion preaching the equality of human beings of all the origins, races.
I request this site to please block any more abuse & foul language here.

Dear Sir,
As per your theory, all humans must be called apes or monkeys because at some point or times parents of first MAN was a monkey look like. I totally disagree with you on your theory. Yes, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's parents were from the Hindu origin but that necessarily not make Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji hindu. Even at the tender age of childhood He refused to wear the hindu thread(januae). He written against the rituals of Hindus & Muslims{fasting}in His bani. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji does not praise any of the Hindu gods but only the praise of Akal Purakh.
Its not Sri Guru Govind Singh Ji brother, its Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji! I dont get the sarcastic question behind these questions. Can you please throw some light on your actual question?
Khalsa Country?? What you on about man??
Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited Mecca & many hindu historical sites to educated people about the GOD, where people were instead were more busy in rituals. He went everywhere to spread the message of Love and God.
