Germans including Hitler, encouraged their scientists and other intellectuals to learn Samskrita, so that they can study our manuscripts and understand how science and tech concepts which were already mastered by ancient Indians, could be used effectively.
Unfortunately, neither we nor our government have realised the importance and we continue to ignore the vast treasuers that are lying within our reach.
GOI who is so bent upon the reservation issues for IIM and IITs - why can't they start a Samskrita Univesity in each state and make it open for all? I am sure we have the required resources also for teaching. No use all students think that IIT / IIM is the be-all and end-all.

I agree with your suggestions. Germans learnt a lot from the Sanskrit manuscripts that they took from India and even today it is the only place where one can do Ph.D. in Sanskrit! The knowledge about rocketry in which Germans first made rockets was acquired through some ancient Sanskrit manuscripts. There is also a record od a brahmin in Mumbai who manufactured a plane and flew it on chowpaty an art he learnt from one of the old scripts in sanskrit. It also happens to be the most computer friendly language in the world!
