yOUR sNASKRIT transaltion is not accurate. The first part is \\\"Welcome honourable Mr. President\\\". The second part \\\"Yavana deshe\\\" is \\\"to the country of Greeks (i.e.Greece). So it should read \\\"Welcome Honourable Mr. President to Greece\\\"

The awefully incorrect transliteration of Sanskrit, spoken by the Greek President, in this story filed by Sumir Kaul, perhaps a Kasmiri Pandit, speaks volumes of the cultural and intellectual nadir that India has reached today. Wish it was just an error in reading the proof. The Greek Prez appears to have said "Rashtrapatim Mahabhaga, suswagatam yavan deshe" ("President, the blessed one, welcome to the land of Greeks").
