I would be happier, if the Judiciary, declares that it is unconstitutional, and take the Govt to task for having come out with such a proposal to divide the society further with 'vote bank' policy in mind.
Already there are more than enough reservations in favour of SCs, STs, Dalits, Minorities, etc, etc., and the general category people are left with a very few seats in all educational institutions. Students from General Category with very good marks, are unable to get admissions in to good Colleges/professional institutions, due to this Govt 'vote bank' reservation policies.
I only hope Judiciary takes the Govt to task for all these ills, unconstitutional activities, and tell them to respect merit and give concessions in fees, scholarships, books at concessional rates, etc. to only meritorious, but economically weakers sections of people, irrespective of any caste/community/religion, etc.
I don't know whether we will live to see such a day in this country.

Dear Harish, Judiciary doesn't have the authority to dismiss the Govt. It can only pass strictures, which can embarass the Govt. The present decision is also only a 'stay'. It may be vacated later on. Let us keep our fingures crossed till the final verdict/judgement is given.
