What victory?? I am an IITian.... I dont think the reservation would degrade the output quality of our education system. The education system has its own passing criterion . Let it be strict. THe facilities in IIT/IIM are provided by Indian Government, The Govt. has the responsibility that to used by Indians..... Indians means majorities are backward..... you may feel sad , the majority is backward... we want to correct it ,.... it need reservation. I know how tough to get through the entrance test....What type of people , are getting seats in IITs..Role of coachin centers. .. heavy fee structures of such coaching centers....etc.. Please understand that when the real indians are poverty and misery, some are getting super white scholar jobs because of circumstances (80%)inwhich he or she borned... Interlligence gifted by God is normally distributed , we are not able to drive the talents of the people in slums and rural areas.....there they dont have facilities....... Usually the 'rulers' overlook the supressed and court support them,, now things are changing court orders are not in that direction.............Let me stop here........... Thanks

Mr. Haris... whatever u sed is very true but if u realise all of the factors u mentioned are related more to the economic background and not to the easier and more politically favorable caste based system... Clearly, the son/daughter of an IAS officer or a regional manager in a PSU or director in a state government entity are ideally not called 'backward' - even if they may want to call themselves so for the sake of the free lunch Thx

nonsense.. they is a hollow victory.. the constitution bench will toss the two-bench verdict right out the supreme court window.. reservations are required to bring back equality in the caste-divided society

Dear Mr. Veejay ... hoping that you are at least literate ... the court has simply put a stay on the law stating that the 1931 census done by the British about 75 years ago can not be the basis of a reservation law in 2007 ... if Arjun singh & company are that serious for the OBC then they should have passed / created the law after taking proper statistics & figures ... these Arjun singh & company only brought this law to win elections by creating vote bank ... still look they are not doing a proper statistical study but putting pressure on court only ...

Reservation to distribute power from the anglicized and marxists is required. This reservation doesn't do that.
