With the quota for OBC the total reservation will increase to 52% or may be higher. I have a suugestion. Pass a bill for reservation of remaining 48%, presently not covered under resrvation, with a condition that vacant seats would be filled by the reserved quota in case suitable candidates are not found in SC/ST/Minorities?OBC etc etc categories. What say???????
What I am suggesting is that let there be no quota reservation for SC/ST/Minorities or OBC etc etc and let there be a quota only for castes/catagories not presently covered under reservation. This will give more leaverage to SC/ST?Minorities and OBC etc to compete and get more education/jobs as tehre will be no sub-reservation under each catagory amonst themselves.
The entire country should infact fight for upliftment of econimically weak people irrespective of any caste or catagory

Very well written Siddhartha. Excellent, you seem to me a very sensible person and I fully agree with you. First of all I think all this quota issue is more beneficial to our politicians rather than to our OBC or SC/ST brothers/sisters. Secondly, I have seen a lot of people in India who belong to upper castes such as Brahamins are living in worse conditions than SC/STs. If Government follows your suggestion it is not going to be beneficial only to SC/ST, obcs but also to upper caste people who living much below the poverty line. I am not against the reservation but I think now after 50 years of independence time has arrived when we should be looking for giving opportunity to people belonging to all communities who are living below the poverty line.
