Why only help Indians?
by on Apr 18, 2007 09:53 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Whats up with this stupid Indian government again trying to only help 'Indian' students and this 'Indian' professor? This professor probably has American citizenship, and is being taken care of by Americans.

As an Indian myself, one thing I can't stand is how Indians are so racially prejudiced and self-centered that we want to help only 'our' kind. There were whites, blacks, hispanics, orientals all killed in the shooting. Why not help them as well?

Look at the white people of VA Tech. They don't say they want to help only 'European' people. (Lest they be accused of being 'racist').

This racial bigotry by Indians must stop...there is only one race, the human race. We Indians even like to discriminate each other - like North Indians are better than South Indians, etc.

Indian politicians should know better that America helped this Indian professor achieve what he wanted to be. Since India doesn't want to improve the standard of living of Indians, many of us are forced to find better lives in other nations. Thank you (NOT), greedy Indian politicians!!!

The government is not helping the the indian prof. or student beacuse they are dead. They are only helping the prof.'s parents who for your information are still Indian. Do those old parents not even deserve to see their son for one last time?

Please stop your "Holier than Thou" lecture about human race and try to understand what is happening around you!

Aye. Most people commenting on rediff seem to start out in an aggressive manner, hell-bent on criticizing whoever or whatever it is the news is about, and of course, rediff itself. Blind criticism.

he acheived what he wanted to be by his own hard work. he could have achieved the same in any country if he wanted to. if he was in the US. it was by this own wish and will.

yes, we are self-centered. probably you have no idea how the americans look at the world and the "human-race" according to you. may be you don't know how they look at brown people and please please for god's sake don't tell me that americans don't know what's racism.

i live in canada and i did not go to the US because i don't like that country's attitude towards the world and i'll never go there as well.

Nikkie,
It is not true that you can achieve everything by hard work, you also need the right opportunities. Eg. Kalpana Chawla had a dream to go to space, do you think she could have gone to space if she lived and studied in India?
