Cry for reservation
by Madan Mohan on Apr 18, 2007 12:37 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

The killing of Prof. & one Indian student is a tragic news. Why some people are bringing reservation issue in it. People will continue to go abroad even if reservation is scrapped. It is just mindset to study in a foreign country. For some, it is even status symbol. Only very few genuine very brilliant and poor student get these chances. Most of the parents of these studs are very rich. Let us be impartial. So far, how many seats were reserved in IIMs & IITs (Before recent OBC addition). Even if, number is one thousand, the number of students studying in US, UK, Canada & Australia is much much higher.
Though death of Prof. & a student is a terrible blow to their families, people will continue to go and study abroad. No shooting incidenta or scapping reservation will deter anybody. Please show our conventional wisdom. Now donot say I as OBC. Scholar

you have summed up the unending arguments and discussions on this subject.... I only wish our Government do not make a big issue out of it and go beyond boundaries to show their affection and help, which they never do when much more greater incidents happens within India every now and then.
