Loganathan

Any Indian or for that matter any innocent life being snuffed out is bad. The geographical boundaries between countries is irrevelant for an educated and qualified person.Had he got a good job in India perhaps he would have lived here. We cannot sit on judgement about his decision of going to US for a job in this hour of grief. We can only pray for his soul. The so called hype is there not because some body died in US but the manner in which they were slain by some idiot.

He is a US citizen and we feel sad, there is no need for Indian Govt to react or get involved officially or for the news channels to hype endlessly about Loganathan. He was a good guy fine and good end of story. Why the hype.

Girish Rao , you are very prejudiced even in death , think if some one from your family dies similarly or from your community, you are the first ones to talk differently then .Hypocrates!

We must realise something important here...whether NRI's remember motherland or not, NATION does not let any NRI feel alone..that too when Indian abroad is in trouble...SO..whether NRI's serve motherland or not, INDIA will always tell the world that she cares a lot for her children.....and no NRI will be left orphan abroad.....Can you please understand the spirit in this...thanx a ton !!!

Girish Rao,
This is not a forum on the performance of the Indian cricket team. Please understand the sensitivity of the issue before shooting off comments. Would you not differenciate between a US citizen by birth and an Indian who has become a US citizen by migration? After all, we are talking of a person of Indian origin who at least has his roots in India.

Do the achievments of Sunita Williams or Kalpana Chawla not make India proud?

Venkat, do you mean that we should not mourn the death of a person who does not have achievements to show? Does Prof Loganathan need to have achieved something for you to mourn his death?

You have gone out of your mind Girish. We are discussing untimely death not politics and personal frustration of not being able to make it big.You dont know the struggle you have to surmount to get a job in India with only merit as the criterion.I am also outside India and getting rejection for all efforts to come back. We are not NRIs just because there is more money outside. An entry level management grad is getting 50K-100K per month in India which is perhaps more than anywhere outside (compared to the living cost).Understand this.

Plz don't go too emotional , They have left India on professional reasons .
Hence they are resident americans on their choice .
I have nothing against then ,but there is nothing to be proud about them as they are now offically Americans and not Indians .
So please do not blow the crap of love of motherland , Indian sentiments etc ...
