The ghastly and barbaric killing of Indian Professor Dr Loganathan is despicable. A teacher is a guide and a torchbearer of students which helps in the formation of a better society . With this incident , the society has lost a dedicated teacher and scholar who was contributing to its advancement in several dimentions. Alas , a Noble profession like Teaching , which lights up abd brightens this world with knowledge , has become a risky avocation. ted in history , it only explains the deeprooted malaise hidden somewhere in the minds of the killers community. Major concerns will be raised in the minds and hearts of the parents in India whose children are pursuing studies in US varsities. Undoutedly , as a result of these killings , the country which would be worst affected -- emotionally , socially and morally -- is India. This incident is not easy to get over for a long time to come , probably few decades. The need of the hour for USA is to go into the root cause of this dastardly and devilish act , get to know the facts and take stern measures for prevention of such horrors. Too much of transparency in dealings , openness and liberty for every individual is proving very costly for US.
We Indians will have to rethink now , before we send our children to American Universities . Bigger question is , which other US University , place or office is safe now ? The Superpower is dangerously vulnerable and precariously exposed to terrorosts , racists , protagonists and foreign nationals -- on all fronts. This is the time when it should get its act together and offer safety , security and a comfortable haven for our students , researchers , visiting and permanent faculty , scientists , professionals and businessmen.
It also calls for soulsearching on the part of Indians residing in US.
