Traditionally, the Setu is significant for Tamil clans around that area. In India the dominant clan is called Sethu-Pathy .. Tamil Kings in Jaffna called themselves Sethu-Kavalar (protectors of Sethu). All due to their belief their Lord Rama had legitimised their rule/role. For more than 1000 years.
So it goes without saying that implications are beyond religion. It goes on to tradition and society as well.
Why DMK is adamant, no-one knows. I can't rule out foreign role in this.

The Americans want India and China to deteriorate ,in India by causing social unrest(anti-hindu feelings)(thats the reason sonia gandhi came into politics) and in China by creating unrest and overthrowing the Communist party. The Chinese look strong enough(at least look) but we Indians have already started weakening.
Hey and if anyone thinks the Americans cant do something like this watch and read news from BBC or CNN and all they want to do is show a negative image of India and China with news all the time showing something negative about the 2 countries and some political parties ..Thats the propoganda being only achieved coz of Sonia Gandhi(the woman from Rome(thats where the catholic church is) with the mission of creating unrest in Indians and evangelising Indians to christianity before the muslims can do it),What does this serve the Americans???? It creates unrest in India and India cannot be a superpower. It gives them access to the christians in India and serves the long term aim of being rich and powerful..Look at what they did in africa first they evangelised africans next they taught them to fight the muslims next they looted their countries of their natural resources next made them debted to world bank ... now the african countries are countries with no way out of this.(best example Nigeria)

Then how did RAM and his monkey army cross this water-way???
You mean to say whatever we read in Ramayana and saw in Ramayana (serial) all these were hypothetical?
Please clarify that what extent we should believe in existence of RAM and his Ramayana and also his place of Birth (because our country is suffering a lot due to these issues).
Please save my great country (from these selfish and unpatriotic politicians) REPLY.

When Jesus or Muhammed walks on water, it is truth / miracle. When Ram / hanuan makes a bridge its a myth?
