Rahul with Reference to Remarks on Pakistan
by Arun Tripathi on Apr 16, 2007 02:04 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

At end of the day, the fact remains that Indira had done great service to the nation by facilitating creation of Bangladesh (obviously by breaking Pakistan). It may be recalled that Pakistan had extensively bombarded the eastern part using its resources in East Pakistan, as a result we always had to divide our forces on two fronts. As such strategically, division of Pakistan was in our interest, may be some leaders in BJP and SP including those in Left Front may not agree to this fact. And I do not find any wrong in taking credit for the same. Please recall that NDA government always felt pride in celebrating Vijay Diwas for flushing out militants(or rather facilitating safe withdrawal under US pressure). However, Rahul while claiming credit to this should have kept diplomatic norms in mind and could have made a better choice in selection of words to express his views. Nevertheless, having said that once, he should stick to it, after all he did not say any thing wrong. Rahul is very much young, such mistakes have been made by most experienced people like AB Vajpayee while naming China as its Principal Enemy in a top secret letter to then US Pez Clinton. Similar mistake was committed by George Fernandez when he expressed same statement about China. Rahul's remarks should be seen in the context in which they have been made and there is no reason to blow this issue out of proportion, but you cannot help bjp leaders like javedkar etc who have no other work except finding faults in congress leaders. They do not find any thing wrong with Sanjay Joshi, Rahul Mahajan etc. It's pity that every thing is viewed with the political spectles on.

Political statements are always viewed with political spectacles. Is the drug abuse case of Mahajan a political act? The fault lies with you that you are viewing it with your political spectacles.

I agree with you Mr. Lagidu and would like to ask Tripathi ji who is the real enemy of India, the answer is Congress, dividing us on the basis of cast & religion. They have their Government in the Centre, what good did they do to the people? Reservation, inflation this is what they have given. Shame on Congress and Arjun Singh.
