Rahul states his family won India's independence - So what were the other freedom fighters? Do they count for nothing? Does he know how many of them laid their life for it? Has he heard of the 'real' Gandhi? The one who walked the earth by the name Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi?
His family broke up Pakistan. Yeah your grandma did take some bold steps, but creation of Bangladesh, as we know it, had to do with a lot of other historically relevant happenings, turmoil and riots inside that country. Also there were thousands of Indian soldiers that laid their lives in that war. Instead of taking pride in their and the nation's victory, you choose to glorify it as a family achievement.
His family took India to 21st century. For your kind information, a BJP led government was in power at the dawn of 21st century in India. How did your family help in the growth India is seeing now? If anything the economic boom has to be credited with one man called P.V. Narasimha Rao, who had the vision and the courage to back it up with action, and tore India away from the Nehruvian socialist model. Yes the current prime minister implemented it for Rao. And the Gandhi family parasites and sycohpants, fearing this could spell their political doom, sidelined him and tarnished his reputation.
We Indians want young politicians to come out with their vision for this country. We need to have sessions like they do in US, where candidates for high posts debate on TV and talk of their vision and political agenda. But alas, none of our leaders can come out with such a vision or mission statement. They are busy manipulting power using religion and caste based vote banks, muscle power, poll-rigging etc. And the leader of the ruling party, the so-called most powerful woman in India, lack the courage and guts to even face a press conference.

Did any of the other ruling parties have the guts to send soldiers into another country? In Kargil, the so called patriotic BJP party managed only to reclaim lands they had lost.

When you say 'any of the other ruling parties', please understand that the Congress had the lion's share of power of the post-independence years of India.
They lost half of Kashmir to mercenaries from Pakistan at the very outset and have not been able to recapture it to date. That 'act of courage' is still bleeding India.
Kargil was an acknowledged intelligence failure and was promptly corrected and lost lands recaptured.
The Congress also showed the 'courage' to send our soldiers to Srilanka for a cause they didnt know and got a lot of them killed, with no ultimate gain whatsoever.

the act of 'tearing up pakistan' was a foolish, pyrric victory for India as it only made Pakistan stronger, created another enemy to our East and we lost lost million in money and thousand in soldiers and got exactly NOTHING for the war of 1972. And this gentleman is proud of it !
