Politics is a reflection of the pool that it represents...

Large percentages of India is uneducated. Why do you expect that people who vote for candidates place any importance on their education, when they themselves are uneducated? They are a reflection of the electorate, in more ways than one. They are as corrupt as the average man on the street. (How many people would rather get a traffic ticket for a broken tail light than bribe the cop Rs 100?). They are as educated as the average man on the street.

Look at the leader of the free world to know how effective the electorate is in selecting the most intelligent candidate :D. Democracy as such elects the person who fits certain requirements within the sytem. Level of education is almost never one of them. It helps, but it isnt necessary.

You are right but to a certain extent. In my view It is our politicians who dictate the terms and conditions for their survival in Politics.Whether it is education or criminalisation of politics. They want criminals (remember the Vajpayees regime when a bill was passed within 48 hours against the election commission)for their support and survival, they dont want the betterment of this country. Because they dont have any pride for their country. In my view Only MILITARY RULE is fit for this country. Because, Here in India People only understand the language of DANDA.
