Incredibly, even Nehru accepted that North Indians are more aggressive (when compared with South Indians) BECAUSE NORTH INDIA WAS UNDER LONG OPPRESSIVE ISLAMIC RULE.
If you live with people who rouse rubble every day, you also start imitating them.
UP was the main center of Islamic dynasties in India and underwent long oppression.
And that's why BJP will always remain powerful in UP. Because they will meet these islamists right on the street.

Nationalist does not mean hate muslims either. Nor secularism means APPEASE muslims. But that apart you talk of morals. With morals comes sensitivity and moving with times. Why it is more important for muslims to LOOK MUSLIMS than being good muslims !!! why cannot you make it personal and see that it does not cause nuisance. Why only selective use of technology where it suits and RELIGION DEMANDS when it does not ???. Morality, I think, has a wider perspective.

The stringent laws aspect is one part i agree with and BJP is guilty there but the defence is that they shared power with a few other so called 'secular' parties whose aim was to not arouse the muslims.

Nafasat, these are generic problems with our politicians and BJP members are actually better then their congress and third front predecessors in these aspects of corruption. Also, other than these (where BJP is better), I think BJP already conforms to your criteria of "sincere in discharching your duties,doing nothing detrimental to the interest of Nation/Society/Humanity." So, why the hatred for BJP? If you really love the nation, I don't think you have a better choice right now (I hope we have better parties in future).

contents are correct.it was the order of days in medieval age.what to say medieval age,holocast in germany,bosnia,kosovo are recent.however,it is desirable that muslims should condemn the misdoings of Muslim rulers.I personally cndemn such acts of theirs.This is the only way for goodwill between the two communities inIndia.

Who says aggressive Islamic rule was taken by Hindus so easily?
The very rise of Sikhs (who were all Hindus, whose Gurus gave life to protect Hindus) show to the contrary. Jats played major role opposing Islamic rule. Rajputs rallied against Islamic rule.
Fact of the matter is: Islamic rule never settled in India/. It was always challenged.
Nehru is a secular ICON. WHEN NEHRU SAYS THIS, YOU UNDERSTAND THE REALITY. IF BJP SAYS IT, EVERYBODY WILL ACCUSE IT AS COMMUNAL.

Bogey of castesism is recent phenomena. At the time of Chanakya most of the kings were Todays Backwards. Chandragupt was todays backward. Shivaji was from todays backard community...
What Bhasker pointed out is 100% correct. Muslim could never had 100% dominance. They had stiff resistance from Hindus and this was the reason why Hinduism could survive unlike Pharas ( present Iran ).

It is all Nehru's Policies due to which people have become very aggressive in attitude. This attitude is not bad if used for good purpose but Nehru is responsible for making people aggressive for other cause. Since Independence nothing has been done in these states specially in North India other than just spreading of Castism. These Mulayam and Mayawati has taken advantage of this and ruled state number of times. Due to Illiteracy people don't understand that these parties specially SP and BSP are doing nothing. When SP, BSP comes to power they try to fill their pockets as much as possible during the undefined tenure becoz they don't have existence in other states and they just try to encash the opportunity. Thus people should understand and throw these regional parties out of the state and should vote for either Congress or BJP. Now when you compare congress with BJP you would find BJP far ahead. BJP has a reputation of doing work for people. In our state MP you would see every where roads are under construction, they are doing gr8 job. In Gujrat you can see the developent is at its peak. So its better to choose aggressive parties which work for positive side.

Bhaskar Babu, please do not single out just one factor. Remember that UP has been under casteism even longer than the muslim rule. Meerut will be an interesting battle. Just as a foot note: if you look at your post ("...people who rouse rubble every day, you also start imitating them...")the logical conclusion from that would be that people would have been voting for Islamic parties which is not the case as it appears from the article. The last line of your post does not link to your full posting. You may want to fill in your chain of thoughts.

Just think, why Uttar Pradesh, supposed heart of "Casteist" Hinduism since antiquity saw SO LITTLE CONVERSION TO ISLAM. Max Muslim was 20% just prior to partition.
While Bengal and North Western India where casteism was MUCH LESS CONVERTED MOST?
Casteism is a dead-horse which was created as a bogey during Colonial Era.
Casteism has no relationship with violence. It was 100% because of aggressive, oppressive ISLAMIC RULE.

The other day i was travelling in BMTC VOLVO Bus in bangalore. The whole Bus was gentelmenly and quite. There was these 2 different North boys who started shouting over thier mobile and chatting loudly. Eventhough everybody gave stare look they did not care. Even on the road in bangalore i see Nothies aggressivess. They are totally uncivilised.

SAM KIM, this is out of context. Anyway, i have lived in Bang for a few days and I found two kinds of kannadigas - one who are gentlemanly and do not create problem - another who are just like the ones you described for 'northies'. Similarly, there are different kinds of people across north India. I don't see the generalisation. I found many kannadis very very aggressive.

Artisan, this is a stupid statement - biharis are everywhere, partly because there are no opportunities in Bihar due to laloo's rule supported by congress which was voted to power in 16 states of the nation besides Bihar. So, you see, you are all equally responsible in bihar's backwardness. . Anyway, there are two kinds of biharis just like from other states - one, the knowledgeable type, the other the hooligan type. . And there are more educated biharis in bangalore, chennai and pune than in delhi.

yes Bihar is the most civilized state in India where kidnapping has become household industry. Yes north indians are aggressive and I am proud of that because Of our aggressiveness we fought against Islamic rule the most only problem was we were divided.
