AFTER ALL, WE SEE NO MAJOR HINDU TEMPLE IN VASE NORTH INDIA FROM CHITTAGAON TO LAHORE STANDING FROM PRE-ISLAMIC ERA.
This Gangetic plain was root of Hindu civilization. Absence of pre-Islamic temple shows how ruthless Islamic rule have been.

South India was protected from Muslim rule for 250 years when a great alliance was formed by hindu kings to save muslim agrression under the leadership of Thulva dynasty rules. How many north indians know about Krishna Deva Raya and its sucessful vitory against Muslim rules. Else most of south indians could also be muslims. Its very sad to see even kannadiga's don't seems to prise him as maratha's do in the present day for shivaji.

You are talking about Vijaynagara empire which is treated as pinnacle of Hindu Civilization. Its capital city was best cirty of its time in the world which was looted, wholly destroyed by an axis of 4 Islamoc Sultanate.
Those who know history are well aware of Vijaynagara empire.
Saradindu Bandopadhyay, a famous Bengali noveslist wrote a very famous Bengali historical novel "Tungabhadra-er Tire" (By the side of the river Tungabhadra) in 1960s which became very famous and popular. It got many literary awards as well.
Unfortunately, we have little cross translation between Indian Languages. So, we are not aware/
I am sure, if this book is translated by an able man, it will become major hit even today.
