hey guys should we take this as religious and fight between indians?a canal through there can save a lot of time and fuel and tht means a lot of savings anually both in terms of money and man power.and it dosent mean destroying all of the reef ,but just enough for couple of ships to pass.

Well thats a good idea man but its actually cheap to use roadways.. I mean.. Panama was constructed to bypass south america and suez for Africa. They are all huge continents. but sri lanka is just a small country and believe me A trip from Tuticorin to anywhere in the west coast costs much lesser than transporting the same through a ship.. Ask any economist or a logistics expert on it. They will clarify you..
And this Whole project is destroying marine wildlife and coral reefs in the shoreline of Tamil Nadu and the coral Reefs will act as a protector in many ways.. So this project is destroying Nature too..
