A research performed by one of my good friend says that 96% of NRI who have their babies born in USA (because they want to get citizenship or any other similar benefit) do not realize what would happen if they go back.
A child born in US has to be a US citizen by US Law. And a US Citizen can not be a dual Citizen (Dual citizenship is not supported by US).
A child can not renounce his US Citizenship on his own till he is 18.
Even if one renounces US Citizenship, when they come to India, they will still be a 2nd class NRIs (who will have less rights compared to regular indians) e.g. they will have to pay higher fees.
So all the readers, planning to have their babies in USofA, pls beware. If you are going to return to India youself or forcebly, think twice about settling in USofA or having your babies in USofA.

Wrong Info.. the son need not be an Indian Citizen to live in India. HE can get the PIO card which allows him to stay here.

US DOES have the dual citizenship option. I know many people that're dual British-American citizens.
