Vande Mataram brouhaha

Hven't we had enough of this non-issue being blown so out of proportion?! Arent there any other issues which are of life & death importance to our people than the singing of songs?

Media is a powerful medium but is being frittered away in stupid controversies, which really dont matter. This sort of thing is expected of rag papers, not esteemed sites. Are people going starve? die? fall sick because they do or do not sing a song?

I feel its silly to even celebrate anniversaries of bits of poetry or books or art works... , if we are to do justice this way, then there wont be place for actual issues to be raised!!

Should we react so passionately about the differences in a community? Showing all muslims the door of Pakistan is so old hatered talk that it hardly makes sense in this century. We intellectuals at least should not fall prey into politics of hatered and take lessons from the Mumbaikers and those in Malegaon how they handled themselves in the aftermath of bomb blasts there. Let us spread love for all.
