Justice is done when the guilty is punished without fear or favour.This ought to be the guiding principle. It is also the cardinal principle that guilt does not diminish with time as many votaries of pardon seem to prescribe. A third principle that we must consider is that punishment must be meted out swiftly and not delayed. Let Truth and Justice prevail otherwise the rule of law would itself be a mockery
