Wrong conclusion
by Wise Guy on Nov 14, 2006 04:15 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

TIme and again I see this "North v South"..

Indian development is skewed not on north & South divide...but actually a East of Kanpur vs West of Kanpur divide. The north of Kanpur now is Naxal area, WB, Bihar, Chatisghar, and the North-east almost forgoten states.

The auther cannot explain how Punjab is faring well inspite taking the biggest beating in history of man-kind. NOT ROMAN empire,NOT Chinies, Persians nor Jewes could stop the invaders as effectively as the Punjabis, Rajputs have done. Even then Punjab, hariyana & to some extent desert Rajasthan is prosperous. HOW ? Its perhaps now totally programmed in their blood to fight and still be prosperous !!

Some one pointed out that South did not participate in freedom struggle...that's wrong. Even before 1857, Tippu fought the Colonial rulers.....Its the rot that started in WB due to some stupid rulers their.

But guess large defense development in south is now helping the IT industry.

Also M. Visveswariah's contribution cannot be understimated....look how long the Sardar dam is taking....

South Indian.
