South - North Divide
by Raaj on Nov 29, 2006 05:07 PM   Permalink

This message is for people like CV and all others who don't believe in United India.

People in India think the first war for Independence was fought in Meerut in 1857. The truth is it was fought in 1806 in Vellore, a town in Tamilnadu. Please follow the link for more details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vellore_Mutiny

However, there need not be any fight as to who fought first. (The answer is "WE the people of India"). It is disgusting to see religious, linguistic and communally inclined people very active in this message board. Let me tell you that Netaji wasn't a racist. His aim was to liberate India. He joined hands with whoever who was strong enough to take on Britain.

We do have cultural difference and difference in opinion. Let us not talk about past (good or bad) and concentrate on present to make India, a country which can help the entire mankind to grow and prosper. It is not knowing English or Hindi or South Indian languages or being Hindu or Muslim or Parsi or Christian a passport to live in India. Never forget that you are an Indian irrespective of who, how, where you were born. Jai Hind.
