well, we are happy that, south is doing very good. After all, its progress of India. Its proud for each Indian about south progress.
But, rajiv, can u do one thing ? can u improve ENGLISH of the southerns. Why they use H behind most of all the words ? i. e. in place of ajanta they write AJANTHA, in place of sujata, they write, SUJHATHA. in place of balaji, they use BAALAAJII or BAALAAJEE. etc. there are somany examples, why they dont use correct english ? OR in schools, it is educated like that ? Any way, we are proud of south progress, but we hate this SOUTH SINGLISH.

madarasi peopel have this problem. what happens ki they tend to mix their mothertongue when they speak English. unlike north indians who speak engliss matlab angrejee very freely, madarasi logon ko utna freely nahi aata. shayad they have lot of mother tongue influence.

Oh comeon Sandeep. Don't be a kid. By the way, i need to correct your English (Should i say Ninglish :-)). The spelling of the name of a person is not fixed and this is an acceptable thing both in U.S aswell as in U.K English. For example, Mark is sometimes spelt as Marc. Also, it's not written at any recognised place (Oxford or webster's Dictionary) that the spelling of Sujatha (yes, i'm a south Indian) is wrong.
Let me also explain a reasoning behind this. There are 2 sounds here 1)th:- as in Sou'th', Nor'th', 'Th'orium, 'Th'row. 2)t :- as in 'T'asmania, Complica't'e, 'T'oma't'o, 'T'elegram.
It's up to you to decide which sound is more appropriate for Sujatha.
Moral:- Blame the language (English) for having such inconsistencies and not Indians (forget South/North).

Ajanta, Balaji and Sujatha are not English words. One cant find them in any dictonary. They can be spelled depending on the accent of a particular region. Hope u got me Luv u Sagar

hi sandip,
before blaming Southern English, first u must how great is ur hindi. i thin u know the theory "with number of pixels in unit area increases, clarity of screen increases" If u are an Art Student i cant help.
anyway coming to number of letters(vovels and consonents) in southern states are 56+. where hindi has less than 56 if im not wrong. with these many letter, we can speak lot many sound which u can not. Sankrit is the root of language. refer to it. it has lots of sounds which u can not speak.
for example take the words "Hruthik", "hrushikesh", "krushna" , "rushi" in sanskrit. there is special vowel "ru" in saskrit and southern languages.we speak them as they are. but u ppl can not speak that. instead u write "hrithik","hrishikesh","krishan" and "rishi" and u speak "rithik","rishikesh", "kishan","karan(karna)"...
i dont know why u cut the "a" sound in "megh'a'na","'h'ar'a'thi". im sure u call these "meghna","arthi".
i hope ur doubts are cleared now. so dont criticise southern language & sanskrit
