Traffic laws and punishments
by Harsh on Nov 20, 2006 02:49 PM   Permalink

When we look for effective solutions to prevent drunkun driving, actions should also be taken to avoid corruption in handling such matters. No doubt drunken drivers should be punished but should note other facts too. Several times I have read in newspaper where innocent people charged with cases to collect compensation. Officials can easily make 'false proof' to claim a person is drunk. Moreover you cannot blame the driver for accidents caused by careless road crossing by pedastrians( the driver can be charged for drinking with so called false proofs for giving compensation to victim and 'commission' from it for those behind).

Proper maintenance of roads, insisting pedastrians to use footpath, awareness among the people of road saftey should also be given equal importance.

Please also remember sleeping in pavements is dangerous and totally irresponsible.
