Traffic laws
by Gaurav on Nov 15, 2006 03:08 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Why Make so much hue and cry of drunken driving? I agree that it should be made a punishable offence. But, just look at our basic traffic/road etiquettes in India. Anybody just runs on to a road as if it is a park or something. Roads are meant for vehicles and footpaths for people to walk.
If we are talking about making drunken driving a punishable offence, even jaywalking should be made a punishable offence. Even that is life threatening.

Only if the overall traffic sense of people improves, we can think of an accident-free India. Please don't just point your guns on drunken driving. Build some kinda discipline on other more important things.

Very good point Gaurav.
We in Bangalore do not have any traffic laws implemented.Footpaths are used by 2-wheelers and we just do not have the traffic light for crossing the road.
YOU HAVE TO BE 'LUCKY' ALL THE TIME WHILE CROSSING THE ROAD.
The roads are also very pathetic.
