A solution is to order drunken drivers to attend as nurses or soem such for victims of drunken driving or to impose that they serve the families of people who have died due to such incidents... Community service and exposure to genuine spiritual and psychiatric help is better for society. I do not think that "policing" has made society any better. Most crimes are due to the punishment and fear.
A humorous solution: make the drunk driver drink in his lock up cell- give him/her unlimited booze and no water/or little water and let them get sick of it...let them drink everyday in a lonely cell...

Not only punishing we need to prevent it like exactly how it happens in US. If somebody is caught with drinking and driving their licence needs to be suspended for atleast 3 years .This should be taken care so that no one will be ready to drink and drive and it can result no accident happends.
ofcourse who they know they can even drive without licence. If a punishment/law exists It should be made sure people follow it .For the people to follow it officers need to take care. For the officers to take care atleast they should have this social responsibility and not corrupt..Its just the system need to be changed.
