What is wrong in verbalizing ur love for ur motherland
Why make such a fuss over this trivial matter.southies 've a gd quality that they all strive to preserve their cultures.may be their geographical position cud be the cause for their being not affected by western culture so much as north india did.
One thing is true. There is a hella lotta diff in the outlooks and mindsets b/w north and south indians. Also as nagendra mentioned North indians may not be as religious and observant as southies but at the same time they 've gud reverence for saintly people.thts a gud observation

I am rather amused by the vitriolic anger from my North Indian countrymen at an article, elegantly expressing love, nostalgia and warm sentiments towards a home state/region. Do you know that in every country in the world including France, Germany amongst others, people of a particular region be it Normandy or Bordeaux in France are fiercely proud of their region. There is no implied insult to the other regions in this article. The North Indians who regularly condescend to us South Indians should take a leaf from this southern success. What can you do to contribute to fight evils like illiteracy, dowri deaths, female infanticide etc prevalent in larger percentage in the north?

Mr SK, i dont agree with what Mr Indian had said earlier regd southies being jealous of northies, thats bullshit. But what irks me the most is tht wen some1 says Hindi as "your" language, Hindi is not any region's language, its a national language. There are other states like West Bengal, Gujrat, Punjab which have thier state languages too, i never heard them saying Hindi as "your" language, they never have a problem with hindi, but yes i have noticed that many people from south do not give hindi the respect a national language deserves.
