There were no protests when Bombay, then a better known city changed, it's name to Mumbai. Calcutta, the erstwhile capital of the British Empire in India, changed it;s name to Kolkata without any protest in the national media. Madras, India's only city known to the North Indians a few years back became Chennai without any adverse publicity, so, why can't Bangalore revert to it;s original name of Bangaluru ? Why the fuss ? People will get used to it.
