Reservation in TN
by Hari Haran on May 30, 2006 01:26 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

While analysing the Reservation system in TN, following points are also to be noted :

a) Upper Castes are a miniscule number in TN & hence are silent sufferers of the Reservation system.

b) No one in TN speaks against the system not because they "accept" the policy but out of sheer fear.

c) TN has seen worse. In year 1990, there was a rule which provided additional "5" marks for SC/ST/BC/OBC students whose parents were not graduates. God knows how many promising careers were crushed because of this rule

d) Another indicator is the large number of CA/ICWA/CS students come out of TN. Since the so called upper castes can't get into Engineering or Medical streams they settle for the commerce group & thus get into CA/CWA/CS which don't have any reservation system.

e)The bedrock of the Dravidan politics has always been hatred towards a particular community & hence it is no wonder that such a system thrives.

f) Despite all this, no one would dare asking P Chidambaram why his son married an Iyengar girl when he could have selected anyone from the so called SC/ST/BC/OBC/MBC communities.

It happens only in TN.

You are perfectly reasonable.

To add,
It is not just P.Chidambaram , who got his son married to an Iyengar (popular Bharatanatyam artist)girl
but,
so shocking is that even Karunanidhi got his nephew
Dayanidi Maran married to a Bhramin girl.
When it comes to matrimony , they dont mind aaor rather prefer a Bhramin girl. When it comes to family doctor or advocate or advisors, they dont mind he/she belonging to so called upper castes.
Atrocious!!

Haaaann! So what do you mean? The name of IIT is on high just becasue there are 282 Brahmin professors? INTERESTING!

Well, what if the statistics are otherway round? Will you stick to your statements? I hardly doubt it. Then you will say the number of OBC professors are high becasue they are getting reserved seats.

GROW UP GUYS!!! Dont be blind. Please have some logical comments.
