The entire policy of reservation was evaluated by the British in the Madras Presidency way back in 1921 or so when they started the Justice party to divide the Hindu community by castes and demand separate quota for Non-Brahmins (OBC), SC&ST & Minority religon etc.
This was because because the only occupation left for the Brahmins at that time was clerical work and they got jobs in the British government.
The Chettiyars , Mudaliars and other Royal people felt it below their diginity that they have to go through a "Brahmin" for any government work.
So under the bogey of "Brahmin Domination" they promoted the "Justice Party" which was to protect thier "Self Respect"
This was ably assisted by the British beacause these Brahmins were also in the forefront of freedom struggle. They were killing two birds with one stone.
The poor Brahmins were toremented by the British then and the Dravida parties now by the same bogey of "Brahmin Domination".
The concept of "Suppression & Oppression" of the OBC SC ST by the Brahmins is a LIE. This has to be exposed first. The real fact is OBC Suppresses & Oppresses SC & ST and they put the blame on the "Brahmin" for all the evil.

well said mani, brahmins are being made to pay for others opressions through centuries. a commmunity that cannot kill because they cosider that to be sin, what opression can they do? it is classical case of tom being made to pay for dicks fault. the real story is that till mid nineteenth century there was not much to be shared,so cumbersome and strainful job of reading scriptures was left to brahmins and others were content in enjoying their life by ruling through muscle power.
only after mid nineteenth century,when education became indispensable to progress in life did these people awake and started raising boegy of "self respect".Till that time they were happy enjoying luxuriesof life through muscle power. since brahmins were holding position in govt jobs,the only way to get rid of them and to grab their jobs was to cook up stories which could potray them as demons and thus get rid of them.
the dravidian parties did that job well and potrayed brahmins in negative light and grabbed their only livehood. as brahmins were in minority always,just 1 %,i would like to ask these dravidian leaders that what prompted their ancestors to be suppressed for centuries????

in india to progress means to snatch .means for progress do not matter. it is the progress that matters.so brahmins need to understand this and live life accordingly. i will even suggest conversion to most humane religion of christianity by all upper castes or may be to agressive religion of islam. brahmins should not put themselves to bear the unnecessary load of bumkum bull shit stories.
