anti quota protest
by rajesh on May 14, 2006 07:44 PM   Permalink

The government is slowly realising that the subsidies and quotas do more harm than good. The existing quota is also under utilised across the spectrum, to a maximum of about 9 %. The educated youth and public of India should now ask for reduction of total quota from existing to about 10 % in total, with a deadline date to eliminate quota in toto.
The education cess charged by the general public must be utilised in creating scolarship to aid economically backward people irrespective of any caste or religion.
This is the need of the hour.
The blind and deaf government has failed to identify the real problem and is trying to solve the problem with the wrong tool of reservation.
In india of 2020's there is no scope of reservation of any kind. Scholarships - yes.
Reservation must be eliminated, its time has come to an end.
