Claude Arpi: Re: Discrimination - You are touting France as a civilized nation. What was the reason of 2005 fall riots? Was it because France is not racially biased? You can blame the immigrants. But where did the first generation of the immigrants come from? Were they not brought in from the colonies as guest workers to supply the needs of the booming French economy? Re: Photographs - Yes, the Indian government restricts photographs of the sites and artifacts which are under the Archeological Survey of India. Indian history shows how our artifacts have been stolen by the so called "Civilized" nations. We find our artifacts in museums of the civilized nations with notifications that they were bought from Indian Rajah's and Maharajah's; but who can collaborate? Documents can be made up after the item was stolen. Coercion was also a technique used by the "civilized" occupiers. You mentioned Indians happily clicking away at statues, paintings, art artifacts at Louvre museum. These items are in a museum and not at an archeological dig site. There are many things that I would like to point out; but unfortunely Rediff does not provide enough room to do so. However, I would say the same thing to you that many of us immigrants hear in the "civilized" nations; "If you don't like my country GO BACK."
