army officer committed suicide
by jatinder on Jun 16, 2006 03:34 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

First of all I feel really sorry for all those Indian Army officers who has committed suicide before and for this first ever Indian Lady army officer too. After reading this news I did a lot of research on this Suicide Issue in Indian Army and I found that so far only those officers have committed suicide who belong to Upper-Castes. I mean if these people do not have fighting spirit then why do they join army. Last week there was a lot of drama over reservation issue. At least quota people do their jobs properly, It does not matter whether they are in the army or in any other position. Kargil war is one of its example. You can compare percentage of SC/OBC/ST Jawans died in Kargil comparing to General Category; their number is much higher than General Category. Although it is a matter of great sorrow but I think, time has arrived when upper caste people need to start realising their weakness too.

This is a very senseless way of seeing things. You can not link everything to reservations and try to prove your argument. If you really want to talk figures, battles are won by killing not by dying. So if more SC/ST/OBC people died during war, it can be seen as their inefficiency and not a matter of pride, so lets not bring reservations here. If you want to talk reservation talk just reservations, dont mix up things and try to prove topics irrelevant to the event.
