lack of meritocrity among students
by Manish Khaitan on Jun 09, 2006 01:53 PM   Permalink

I am a practising doctor and during my studies I have seen students who have been offered seats just on caste basis. They never catch up with the quality of the education as they should as doctors.Instead the find misely ways to run away from the responsibilities.Instead everyone should realise that nthere is no shortcut to success. If you have to be good in any field then you have to work hard. There is no silverspoon for anyone. As far as politics is concerned, have you ever imagine that ever they will reseve seats in the cabinet just on the basis of caste or the Head of the nation will be decided just on caste basis or persons protecting the borders on the same basis. If you give merit and experience a place there then why not the same rule applies elsewhere, specifically when you shout that 'Hum ek Hain'.Politicians, please don't do this to our country and let us feel that we Indians are all same.
