defence policy

dear sir,
this has reference to the article appearing here.
Till India starts to be known as a quality exporter of defence equipment it will forever remain a attractive buyer and thus will never be able to collect what it is spending to acquire from abroad. In India we always read about the arms bazar and the amount of money there is to be made, but till we continue to be recognised as facilitators for others to make money and not for ourselves this so called defence diplomacy may not yield effective results. In our region there are many underdeveloped countries where arms can be sold by India (conventional weapons systems) at rates more competitive than anywhere from the west but we still continue to pat our backs as good buyers so that everyone else but our country make money out of defence, we are better known worldwide as makers of personal fortunes from defence. we should start it as a business proposition in our region atleast and we can achieve this not by reservations in education sector as that will ensure that we remain buyers forever and never make anything out of it monetarily or qualitatively atleast for a minimum of 100 years.
