Last night I was on my PC for some urgent work. Suddenly the electricity went off and my comp shut down, leaving me in high tension. It came at 2 in the night.
The irony is that it is happening in DLF, Gurgaon, which is suppsed to be the most luxurious places in the country. And, its not happening for the first time. Infact, in the last whole year the situation has been like this. Very often, we all residents spend sleepless nights outside or on the terrace in the absence of electricity.
Power shortage is not only a big humanitarian problem these days but also a blocking element in our developmental pusuits. The moment power go off, people are left such high and dry condition as though they were living in the 16th Century. Nothing is left to do and the suffering due to extreme whethers here.
Its constant throughout the country and in Northern Indian States, the problem is very acute?
India's electricity needs are the third largest in the world, it cannot afford this shortage of MWs which is contantly threatening for the last few decades.
In this scenario, Indo-US nuclear agreement sirens sound good in our ears. Hope that it will solve my power woes.
