the conditions of the pit and the geometry, dimensions, ... of the hole are unknown.
however, a rope with a slippery loop might have been lowered to guide the boy to insert his hands into it and lock.
even a battery torch also could be tied and lowered for the boy to see the ongoings.
ofcourse all this with safety measures. once the boy's hands are tied in the knot firmly he could be pulled up.
today webcams, camcorders, ... are available. should enable to see the conditions downhole and the actions of the boy.
by the time this email reaches it is sicerely hoped that the boy is rescued safe.
the elapses like leaving the unsafe holes open shall not be tolerated that too around dwellings.
is there an end to the pit falls in man's doings?
