Indian Judicial system
by Jaganniwas Iyer on Jul 23, 2006 04:44 PM   Permalink

I commend Lalit Koul for this particular column. The Indian "system of jurisprudence", directly borrowed from the colonial regime of the British is today dysfunctional and incapable of protecting the nation's citizens and exists only to serve the rich and the powerful, apart from serving the interets of certain foreign powers. Little wonder that criminals and thugs roam freely and also manage to enter the corridors of power, while Islamic, Maoist and evangelist terrorists are having a field day in trying to acieve their henious goals. It's time to say goodbye to this collapsed edifice and bring in a ew legal and judicial system, one that will be rooted in this nation's ethos and requirements. My whole-hearted support for the late Priyadarshini and her family; after all, she was my sister too.
