SAD CASE
by JAYANT on Jul 09, 2006 07:49 PM   Permalink

What happened was very wrong. But it is sad to note that Mumbai has become a hub of emotional outbursts which not only destroys the image of a commercial city but also deprives its people a fair share to earn their livelihood. Political mileage is gained (though for a short period) at the cost of Maharashtrians and people living in Mumbai for decades. Loss to state and national property to gain footage in the media for vested interests is very wrong. Shiv Sena should have resorted to peaceful means of protest (for a change, like saffron march on the streets of Mumbai and interiors and maybe that could have attracted more media attention with lots of fan following. I am always of the opinion that violence instills fear and not respect, short terms achievements and not long term recognitions. Shiv Sena as a political party can do miracles provided it uses its "Astras" with caution and only when needed.
