Temple row
by Prashant Thakur on Jul 01, 2006 08:24 PM   Permalink

Whither India? What is happening? On one side, India is promoting itself as an emerging world force (doesn't matter if this lead is only limited to outsourced projects that too only computer related...) On the other, it is still reluctant to come out of the shadows of mediavelism.

We have monopolised god, art, literature, in fact society itself strictly on the basis of religion. Artists films are banned, literary classics are burnt, people are killed, simply because they are of a different religion.

What filth is this? Sad to say, but it's time to wake up and undergo a complete metamorphosis, India.

The latest fracas of Hindus getting incinerated because some Christian actress visited temple, is an excellent example of this. I would say that I least expected this from a state like KERALA. Kerala always boasts of high literacy rates. Why, just yesterday, I read that it has set a target to make every student adept at ENGLISH.
