This article accurately highlights how Baluchistan has become a roadblock in India's attempts to acquire more petroleum (gas or oil) to fulfill its ever growing energy needs. The pipeline will only bring prosperity to everyone associated with it. But by preventing the construction of the pipline they (the baloch) ar e only pushing their unemployed people towards more economic backwardness.
Fighting for independence will only bring doom. Firstly because they may not even acheive it against a better organised Pakistani military which is supported by American men,money and machines. Secondly even if they wrest independence they will force their people into a very long period of pain and misery.
Instead of rebelling they can demand more share in the profits and cultural emancipation or recognition in their country. Through this route they get peace and prosperity.
Even if they wrest independence they will always need to rely on a strong ally to feel secure. Perhaps peace talks with Pakistan's central government will be less harmful.
