The defeat of Sena candidates was expected, but if one sees the margin of defeats, one thing is quite evident -- that contrary to the claims made by Narayan Rane that the Sena is finished in the Konkan belt, the party is trying to regroup under Uddhav's leadership.
The Sena has suffered the bolts of rebellion from all the quarters and now is looking to launch itself under a single leadership. It will take some time for the party cadre to settle down and start a fresh inning.
The real test for Uddhav will be the Mumbai civic polls slated in the year 2007. It is his chance to prove that he is a force to reckon with in the Maharashtra political scenario.
