maybe there is a quieter way this could have been done. it is not pleasant to be told that god requires purification from someone who came to worship him.
maybe the temple authorities need to make people aware of this; god might answer your prayers to get elected, but he can be as narrow-mided as his temple priests if you wante to visit him to say thanks.
so keep a respectful distance; old traditions live
