I have enjoyed all my vegetarian dishes as much as you have enjoyed chicken.
Food, like music and literature is abundant and the variety is astounding. If one has not heard or enjoyed western pop music, one has not missed much in life, if instead he has enjoyed classical music or some other form of music.
Some of us may not have read and enjoyed Shakespeare but instead we have read and enjoyed Kalidas. The variety of foods that are vegetarian is so great that it is impossible to eat all the vegeterian dishes possible in one's lifetime.
To each his own.
Please continue to eat chicken if you like it.
Bird flu or no bird flu, I will continue to avoid chicken and all non-vegetarian food because I am brought up that way and see no reason to change my food habits.
But if there is a major outbreak of a disease that affects potatoes, I will be prudent and avoid eating potatoes till it becomes safe to do so.
Likewise you will be prudent if you avoid chicken for a month till the threat of contamination dies down.
Is the momentary pleasure you get biting into the flesh of the bird worth the risk?

The persons eating vegitarian only will not have the independance of eating anything, they will always suffer because they can only consume veg foods, which according to me is provided in good quality only in certain restuarants that too at high prices....
