secularism gone wrong
by venkat on Feb 25, 2006 06:31 AM   Permalink

i think our politicians are unable get the real meaning of secularism. it is giving equal right to every member of the different communities while at the same time living in harmony. not sacrificing our rights to assuage others. probably, the politicians of this land are trying to show their seculrism by showing their laxity to a minority community. but this doesn't at all bring the much wanted harmony.

we trumpet ourselves to be a secular land but for this the leaders of the land need to learn what real secularism is. they have to introspect to find whether they are secular enough to implement the laws unbiased. as long as a law implementer remains communal in his mind, he tries to bring about secularism by showing bias towards opposing community. Any other action would only bring guilty feeling in his own mind and would naturally fear facing criticism of supporting his own communtiy by an as much insecular opposition leader.

we need a law implementer who is learned, who can think critically and who is strong enough to make decisions.
