What's Indian State's fault?
by S.P. Badrinath on Feb 22, 2006 10:59 AM   Permalink

I quite agree with the writer. Why damage and destroy the property in India and Indian states for the act of a third country? Whose loss is it? Will those who have vandalized the property pay for the rebuilding/reconstruction?
Correct advice for the protesters would be that they should do something which would make the authorities in the third country take this issue seriously and take action against the cartoonist like legal action, diplomatic action, pressure from the Arab world on Danish authorities, pressure on European community to advise Danish authorities for corrective action.
As the author said, images of Hindu Gods have been used loosely but Hindus were sensible enough not to resort to actions as is done by the protesters. This is sheer madness. The protesters should have some concern for the nation and not just religious sentiments.
