What is Indian State\'s Fault/
by S.Ramaswamy on Feb 22, 2006 12:54 PM   Permalink

The majority is right to feel bad at the pampering of minorities.
The Govt, silent when Hindu dieties were rubbished,is quick to react on the cartoon issue. The Lok Sabha condemned the foreign cartoon but was mum against MF Hussain's sacrillege against the Hindu Goddess right in India. Not a word from the 'secularists'or the BJP.Are Hussain or Muslims above law?
The vandalism in the cartoon controversy made the govt to act. What signal did it send? Organise similar vandalism against MF Hussain to get Govt's attention? Denigrating Hindu deities by a Muslim, has lethal incendiary potential.Doesn't the govt know it?And why has the freedom of artistic expression claimed for him not been used by him to show the Prophet likewise? Has any one from the Muslim community spoken against Hussain,a habitual offender?
Ignoring the sensitivities of the majority will help consolidate their votes leading to a backlash.Calculations of dividable Hindu vote bank will collapse.
Pandering to the fundamentalism of Muslims will lead to Hindu backlash cutting across the party line, consuming every one of the present minority appeasers, blighting their political career for ever.
