Former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein executed
by N. Srinivasan on Dec 30, 2006 09:51 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Saddam Hussein has been described as "Former Iraqi Dictator". The apt decsription could be "Former American aided Iraqi Dictator". He has been executed for the thousands of killings committed during his rule. Now we only hope that his sentence will not lead to thousands of deaths now.

I saw your phrase "Former American aided Iraqi Dictator". But you must understand that in the 1980's America needed the help of Saddam to fight the bigger evil (Soviets). Do u ever think what would have happened if the Soviets had prevailed in the cold war. The whole world would have now been a big communist block. But the American support did not mean that Saddam can go on bullying his own people and smaller neighbouring countries. He rightly got what he deserved. And his soul will never rest in peace.
