He might have been sent to life imprisonment. sunni and shia differences arer historical .Majority always wanted to dominate minority.Then persons like saddam take birth and history repeats .to avoid it in future Iraq should be completely democratised by giving equal rights to each person in Iraq. then only it will be safe for Iraq, other wise civil war takes place in that country.
