SINGUR

Land reforms have not been implemented so many years after independence & now govt is taking away fertile lands away from unwilling farmers forcibly & given less compensation and/or less fertile/fallow land far away from original location! With these SEZs govt is creating new breed of industrial or commercial ZAMINDARS though zamindari was abolished atleast on paper after independence! Do the realtors or industrialists need the size of land they ask for from the govt or they keep the excess land in hand for future use maybe for other purpose or even sell off at higher price later when nobody will remember!?? Its not qs of Tata's integrity or "Nano" pride or Mamata's agitation but real/actual land requirement of the project & the real plight/need of the affected farmers wrt fertile farmland whose value as such cant be quantified.
